If you believe
in equitable systems,
then you must believe
in equitable filmmaking.

We do, too.

"The team at Social Impact Films has been a supportive and impactful partner over many years. Through films and the production of online events, Social Impact Films has been vital to our ability to tell our story and engage a broader audience."

Jessyca Dudley, Executive Director, CAAIP

This is how we work.

Social Impact Films believes that the most effective way to change hearts is through intimate, honest stories that help us step into the emotions, motivations, and lived truths of the people they portray.

We start this process by doing a deep dive into your organization's brand and mission. Additionally, we collaborate with you to create the parameters and strategy for the video project - the timelines, tone, goals, and overarching message.

Then, Social Impact Films partners with the person, or people, that will be featured in order to co-create the story. This is a crucial part of our process as we seek to create ethically, with the end-goal of producing an intimate and honest story.

We will schedule a second consultation with you in order to present the results of this process, usually through an outline. Once approved by you, we are set to execute the production process.

The Production Process

The Pre-Production Stage

Laying the right groundwork is essential to developing a great video. Pre-production is where we figure out the best game plan for your organization. We put our heads together to decide on the video concept, the look/feel and style, we write the outline, cast our participants, decide on location, and lock down all the other details involved with how the actual video is going to look, sound, and perform.

The Production Stage

We're rolling! Now that we have the road map developed in the pre-production stage, it’s time to put it all together in front of the cameras. This is where our professional crew of director of photography, camera operators, sound engineers, and lighting techs do what they do best - film a great video.

The Post-Production Stage

If production is putting all the ingredients together to bake the cake from the recipe developed in pre-production, then post-production is putting the icing on that cake and making it look irresistibly delicious. Our editorial post-production team kicks in to shape your story, handle color-correction, record any voice overs, clean up the audio, add music, create graphics and in general make sure your video looks like we planned in pre-production. It's at this stage that you’ll see the first cut.
